Man charged for 2024 murder of ‘Bringle’ in Admiral Town
A 27-year-old man has been charged by police in connection with the August 2024 shooting death of a man known by the alias Bringle in Admiral Town, Kingston 12.
Charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony is construction worker Jason Campbell, otherwise called 'Li', of Benbow Street, Kingston, who had been on the run.
The deceased is 55-year-old electrician Paul Brown of Nelson Street in Admiral Town.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 4:30 p.m., Brown was standing along the roadway when he was approached by Campbell and another man.
Campbell allegedly brandished a firearm and opened fire, hitting Brown in the upper body before fleeing the scene.
Despite his injuries, Brown reportedly ran into his yard to escape further harm and told residents that Campbell had shot him.
He was assisted to hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.
Following the electrician's death, an investigation was launched.
Campbell turned himself in to police on Tuesday, February 3, and was formally charged on Thursday, February 5.
